The house was full of necessities as well as many other nice-to-have items such as a microwave, toys, a tool kit, and extra linens. The team would like to thank everyone for their contributions and also for their patience. It was difficult to plan ahead when we did not know the particulars of the house and the timing. Some of you offered up furniture that we were unable to use, and we were able to direct it to other needy families. Others held on to items for weeks. All of this was very much appreciated. The folks at Neighbor to Neighbor, a ministry at Duke Memorial United Methodist that Holy Infant has partnered with, also were a big help. The team learned a lot ourselves, and we are continuing to learn as we interact with the family. This project has highlighted Holy Infant at its best – Murakoze! (That’s thank you in Kinyarwanda, the language of our new brothers and sisters.)
