Protecting God's Children

The Diocese of Raleigh has made great efforts to ensure safety and security for all children and youth while in the care of Church personnel. As a parish, Holy Infant abides by the Diocese of Raleigh's Child and Youth Protection policies. All parishioners who are involved directly in ministries or programs for children, youth and teens undergo a criminal background check and participate in Safe Environment Training designed to equip adults with skills to recognize and report child maltreatment. Contact the Faith Development Office to begin a criminal background check.

All catechists and volunteers who work with children, youth or teens are required to attend an initial Safe Environment Training Workshop approved by the Diocese of Raleigh. Participation in a similar workshop provided by any other catholic Diocese or any other organization is not recognized. This workshop can be attended virtually if hosted by the Diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection, or in person at any Diocese of Rlaeigh parish. After inital training, volunteers are required to take an annual asychronous online training to renew their certification.
