Always wash hands before putting them near the eyes.
Wear the right protection to keep your eyes safe. Many eye injuries can be prevented by wearing the proper safety protection. Ordinary glasses won’t protect from injuries. Most protective eyewear can be made to an eyeglass prescription.
Eyewear made of ultra-strong polycarbonate that is sport-specific and fits properly will give you the best protection. Here are some examples:
Basketball or soccer: polycarbonate lenses
Baseball: a helmet with an attached faceguard if up at bat or sports goggles if fielding.
Water sports: swim goggles.
Football: helmet with an attached face shield.
Chemistry class, lawn mowing, picking up trash, etc.: safety goggles.
Never look directly at the sun. When in the sun, wear sunglasses that block 99% -100% of UVA and UVB rays.
