Holy Infant’s Golf Association (HIGA) has once again demonstrated how a love of the game can make a meaningful difference beyond the green. This summer, HIGA donated a portion of its “Mulligan Money” to SwingPals, a Durham-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering children through golf, mentorship, and emotional wellness programming.
Founded by PGA professional Douglas K. Hodges, SwingPals partners with schools and community organizations to build confidence, resilience, and social-emotional skills in middle school students. Their unique approach—using golf as a vehicle for personal growth—has impacted countless young lives throughout the Triangle area.
In a thank-you message to the parish, Hodges shared:
“Thank you for your continued support and advocacy and the recent gift from the Holy Infant Catholic Church to SwingPals. Please know, your support helps bring smiles and much joy to the many children SwingPals serves.”
He also shared some exciting news: SwingPals is the cover story in the summer edition of the Carolinas Golf Association Magazine. The article, titled “A Course with a Purpose: How Hillandale and SwingPals are Changing Lives in Durham,” shines a spotlight on the life-changing work taking place through their programs. We are proud to support organizations like SwingPals, whose mission aligns so beautifully with our own call to serve with love and compassion. Thank you to our parishioners in HIGA and all who took part in raising Mulligan Money this season.
