Next Steps for HI Refugee Resettlement Committee

The Holy Infant Refugee Resettlement Team will be working with World Relief Services, one of the resettlement agencies in Durham, on its next project.  

We will be setting up a home for a new family. We do not need to provide the furniture, but we will be putting things together, adding homey touches, and providing groceries and household products for the new family. We will not meet the family or have contact with them after they move in. 

Parishioners who would like to be involved with the set-up must register with World Relief Services and complete online training and background checks. For more information contact Lynn Sale ([email protected] )  or Barbara Gadient ([email protected] ).

Because we anticipate this activity will come with very little advance notice, we are also setting up a Support Team to help with last-minute shopping. This could involve a trip to Walmart or a grocery store. It will not involve training or background checks since members would not be going to the house.  Reimbursement will be available to those who submit receipts to the parish.   If you would like to be on the Support Team list, contact Kathy Bartlett at [email protected].
