How does God want us to act toward others? That question is answered in today’s readings. In Exodus, God tells the Chosen People how to treat strangers, widows, orphans, and others in difficult circumstances, and explains why.
Writing to the Thessalonians, Paul says that by imitating the Lord they have become models for other believers. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches the Pharisees which commandment is the greatest.
Let us allow God’s word to penetrate our minds, our souls, and our hearts. What neighbor do I know who is in need? What can I do for them, even if it’s just something simple?
