Each October the Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is observed as Respect Life Sunday. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every stage in between. During the month of October, the Church asks us to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human life. The USCCB theme for this year is: Radical Solidarity. We will celebrate through prayer, reflection, advocacy and charity.
To celebrate the sanctity of LIFE at Holy Infant, our parishioners are invited to help support the ministries of Pregnancy Support Services, Room at the Inn (a maternity home for homeless women and their children) and Catholic Charities in our area. Each ministry is listed below with specific needs to help support moms and children. Parishioners are invited to purchase one (NEW) item on one of the lists below. Gift cards will be used by the ministries for clients to purchase food, baby items and women’s health care products. Please staple the receipt to the gift card. The purchased items will be brought back UNWRAPPED, to the mass you attend on Respect Life Weekend, September 30/October 1. Gifts will be collected in the Narthex.
If you are not able to bring your gift on Respect Life Weekend, it can be dropped off in the Respect Life bin (near the coffee bar) in the Narthex the next two weeks through Oct. 15 during office hours. Gift cards should be taken to the Parish Office during normal business hours.
Volunteers are needed to help collect gifts before the masses, count, sort items, and deliver gifts to the 3 ministries. Please contact Diane Gerding if you would like to volunteer.
