On Saturday, October 11th, Holy Infant Catholic Church will join forces with The Triangle Community and Rise Against Hunger to package 25,000 meals for children and families across the globe. The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Triangle Grace Church in Durham, and parishioners are warmly invited to take part in this meaningful opportunity to serve.
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that works to end hunger worldwide by providing nutritious meals to those in need. This meal-packaging event gives us the chance to live that commandment in a very tangible way. By filling meal bags and preparing supplies, each participant will directly contribute to the nourishment, education, and health of vulnerable families who are struggling with food insecurity.
The task before us is both ambitious and achievable. As a parish community, we are working to raise $3,000 and gather at least 30 volunteers to help make the day a success. At present, only one volunteer has signed up, and fundraising is just beginning. This means every pair of hands and every gift of support is urgently needed. The good news is that this is a family-friendly event, open to parishioners of all ages, and requires no special skills. In just a couple of hours, you will be part of a team effort that transforms simple ingredients into thousands of meals filled with hope.
There are many ways to be involved. Some parishioners may be able to give their time, others their financial support, and many will choose to do both. Even a small donation goes a long way—just a few dollars can help provide meals for children who otherwise would go hungry.
Mark your calendar for October 11th and plan to be part of this inspiring event. With your help, Holy Infant can Rise Against Hunger and bring both physical and spiritual nourishment to our brothers and sisters in need.
