The Food Bank’s new Durham facility is opening soon, and it represents a powerful investment in both people and community. The new 64,000-square-foot building, nearly double the size of the current Angier Avenue location, has been thoughtfully designed with community at the center. It will offer dedicated space for volunteer sorting and repacking, rooms for community meetings and trainings, expanded cold storage, and improved access to fresh, locally grown food for partners throughout Durham and surrounding counties.
As this transition begins, the Food Bank’s time at Angier Avenue is coming to a close. During the move and final construction period, operations will temporarily shift to the Raleigh Headquarters. Volunteers are expected to be welcomed at the new Durham Branch beginning in early March, with the first shifts likely starting around March 3.
