Many of us watched with concern as funding for foreign aid, humanitarian assistance, and lifesaving health and nutrition programs faced serious threats in the U.S. budget. These programs are critical for children and families around the globe, and the possibility of losing them felt heavy and discouraging.
After a recent vote in the House, billions of dollars have now been designated for humanitarian aid, food security, nutrition, and global health through programs such as the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and Feed the Future. This funding will save lives and bring much-needed relief to children and families around the world who are facing hunger and illness.
Make no mistake, this has been an incredibly challenging time. But this legislative victory is a direct result of persistent, faithful advocacy. It is proof that when people of faith raise their voices together, change happens.
Thank you for standing with Bread for the World members across the country and for continuing to care deeply about our neighbors near and far.
Here at Holy Infant, we want to keep that momentum going. To that end, Holy Infant will be hosting a letter-writing campaign on March 29th following all Masses, giving parishioners an easy and meaningful way to reach out to our local elected officials on this important issue.
Together, through prayer and action, we can continue to be a voice for those who are too often unheard and help ensure that hope reaches every corner of God’s world.
