October is Respect Life Month

Each October, the Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month. As Catholics, we are called to cherish, defend, and protect those who are most vulnerable, from the beginning of life to its end, and at every stage in between. During the month of October, the Church asks us to reflect more deeply on the dignity of every human life. The USCCB theme for this year is: Mary, Mother of Life.

The theme reflects on Our Lady’s distinguished role as mother of all the living. The life of the Blessed Mother teaches us to respect each human life in every stage and circumstance. We ask Mary’s intercession in helping us to recognize the gift of human life, even when that gift is unexpected or calls us to make sacrifices.

We will celebrate Respect Life at Holy Infant through prayer, reflection, advocacy, and charity. Next weekend, we will communicate a simple way our community can help provide mothers, children, and families with some of the support they need to flourish on Respect Life Weekend, October 3rd and 4th.
