Teens are invited to step into a transformative journey this summer through DeSales Service Works (DSW) retreats! These powerful service experiences, rooted in the Salesian tradition, offer young people the chance to encounter Christ in those they serve—and in one another. Join us for a day of faith, friendship, and hands-on service on June 18th, July 16th, July 24th, and August 6th. There is no cost to participate!
DeSales Service Works is a Catholic service organization sponsored by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, based in the heart of Camden, New Jersey. Inspired by this model, Holy Infant has created its own DSW-style service retreats for youth and adult chaperones here in the Durham community.
A DSW day is an opportunity to spend time in service, prayer, and reflection—a chance to be God's hands and feet in our local community. Each retreat is rooted in Salesian spirituality, encouraging participants to Live Jesus through acts of compassion and community.
A Typical DSW Day Includes:
Volunteering with a local community organization to share Christ’s love
Prayer, reflection, and spiritual conversation in the Salesian tradition
Social fun and fellowship with other teens from Holy Infant!
Teens should bring lunch and a water bottle. Meeting times vary based on our service site, but the typical timeframe is 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
This month, our youth and chaperones will be volunteering at the Diaper Bank of North Carolina, which provides free diapers to families in need. Did you know 0% of safety net programs like WIC or SNAP offer diaper assistance? That gap leaves many families struggling with a basic necessity.
Through your prayers and our young people’s efforts, we’re helping meet real needs while growing in faith and solidarity.
Come serve with us—Live Jesus!
