Everyone needs physical activity to stay healthy. No matter who you are or your age, you can find safe, fun ways to get active and move your way to stay healthy
Children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily. Most of it can be moderate-intensity aerobic activity and at least 3 days per week vigorous intensity activity is encouraged. As part of that 60 minutes, children and teens also need muscle-strengthening activities at least 3 days/week like climbing or swinging on monkey bars and bone-strengthening activities such as running, jumping and other weight-bearing activities at least 3 days/week.
Adults need at least 150 min/week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity and at least 2 days/week of muscle-strengthening activity. Older adults should mix in activities to improve balance. Start slow and do what you can-even 5 min of physical activity has health benefits.
